Some of you may not know that I have another site - www.files4school.com Well, I do and it is filled with resources for teachers and students. Today, when adding new content I was presented with a quandry. You see, I had located an excellent guide at another site about grammar and I wanted the students that frequent my site to see it.
So I 'lifted' the content and put it on files4school. I acknowledged the author of the material and their effort and pointed out where the original text could be found. I then added the website to my blogroll.
Now my question to you is this. Is what I did appropriate? Obviously, I am having reservations. Now upon reflection I could have instead;
- Just written a review of the site and its content and provided a link. (no student would have followed that)
- Copied an excerpt and provided a link. (Hmmm, maybe. A touch of bait might hook them)
- Asked the author for permission to present their content on my website. (???)
I am really not sure about the ettiquette involved here. If I were writing an essay, acknowledgement would be enough. Anyway if you have ideas on what protocol I should follow - drop me a comment.

Oh please just use the Havard system for internet quoting. And since i can't just add a sophisticated comment about anything (or I can't be bothered where to find it) here are a few complaints/comments:
1. Why are you working on Feralpossum's web site and not mine?
2. Why has your website got a more sophisticated (read secure) login system than mine?
3. Why watch the wallabies after last nights debacle?
4. Soon the feral possum will want to bring back "pretty boy" as a coach. Marginally better than "campo" trying to offer informed comment on cable.
5. Bring on the all blacks and up the Broncos!
6. Why are there 4 guests online at 4:00am - obviously poor souls have nothing better to do or they suffer from insomnia - at least the oswayfarer has a legit excuse.
7. You should watch the video on Max Walkers fascination with fountain pens - abc.net.au (or tell feral possum about it)
8. You can never corral real talent - Go Roy
9. You know there must always be 10 items in a list
10. Good Morning to all
I like you baby whale article by the way. So much so that I copied it onto my site and pretended I wrote it.
