Today I am not going in to work. Instead I am staying at home with tissues reamed up each nostril. I am suffering the second bout of 'flu' in as many weeks. Anyone would think my immune system was a little weak at the moment.
Don't think that I am bludging though. I will still be working. I have two class sets of senior assignments to mark by Thursday. My contagious and snotty condition may rule out marking at school and watching my seniors plough their way through QCS, but my will to finish this term properly will not be denied.
Term 3 here in Queensland may see off Winter and welcome in Spring but it also bears witness to the ferocity of flu season and frantic preparation of senior work folios. Flu season and senior folios don't exactly get along but conquering both is essential for every senior teacher.
I will be back at work tomorrow when the flood of goop has subsided and my senior marking is complete.
